Arnold Redman Obituary

Arne passed away peacefully on May 23rd. He was born on the Westside of Chicago. Arne was a very good athlete, playing basketball and baseball for Sullivan High School in the 1950’s. He was one of the first group of Army Reservists and served from 1956 to 1963. Arne started his own insurance agency, Early American Insurance at the age of 28. He built it into a thriving business. Although Arne was not religious, he was very supportive of the young nation of Israel and what it stood for in its early days. He donated generously to the Maccabean Games Foundation and the JUF. Arne was best known for his ability to tell a great story—a raconteur par excellence. He could light up a room with his charming wit and personality. He had the gift of making others feel welcomed and at home. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family. He is survived by his daughters Bari Redman and Lori (Redman) Buchmann, and his grandchildren Aiden Greiff and Ashlyn Buchmann. With his passing a bright light has gone out. Among his last words: “I had a great life!” Graveside services Tuesday 11am at Waldheim Jewish Cemetery, 1700 S. Harlem Ave. North Riverside, IL. In lieu of flowers remembrances to the Maccabean Games Foundation or the JUF would be appreciated.  Arrangement by Ner Tamid Funerals, www.
