Daniel Alfred Wenzel, 95, passed away peacefully at Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy Illinois. He was born in Chicago, IL to Ida & Richard Wenzel.  He was a radio operator in the Army in the Korean war, loved the United States and patriotic songs. Dan was an advocate for the less fortunate and passionate about history and politics. He was always the first to hold the door open for the ladies and a true old fashioned gentleman. He is survived by his niece Kathryn (Ives) Hall of Minnesota and nephew Gary Ives of Arizona. Our "Uncle Danny" is now at peace and has joined his beloved mother Ida Wenzel, father Richard Wenzel, and his sister Laura Ives who all passed long ago and who he missed so very much. A private graveside service will be held at Waldheim Jewish Cemetery. Arrangements by Ner Tamid Funerals 847-504-7336.
