Frances Rosenshein Obituary

Frances Muriel Rosenshein, née Sherman, beloved wife of the late David Rosenshein, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 89.

She was a loving and devoted mother of Opal (the late Jeffrey) Betz, Faith (Michael) Young, Renita (Steven) Wasilefsky and Melissa (Bob) White, and a cherished grandmother of Jacob Betz, Sarah Beth Betz, Hannah (Nolan Center) Young, Sam Young, Isaac (Ashley) Wasilefsky, Jared (Usha) Wasilefsky, Jake White, Thomas White, and Kristina White, who were truly her pride and joy.

Family was always at the center of her world. She was deeply involved in her children’s lives and took great pride in supporting and guiding them, especially during their early years. She notably served as a dedicated Girl Scout leader for all four daughters, a role that reflected her commitment to family, mentorship, and community.

Her capacity for love extended beyond her immediate family, as she was a cherished mother figure to Sarah Eick (the only daughter who didn't give her grief) and Tony Ilawole.

She was married to her husband for 59 years, a partnership marked by dedication and a shared commitment to family.  Though she spent much of her life in Connecticut, her retirement years took her to Illinois, Virginia, and Alabama, ensuring she remained close to the family she loved so dearly.

She was a fond sister of Paul (Fay) Sherman and Sharon (Barry) Hoberman and was preceded in death by her siblings Fred Sherman and Beverly Perlman.  She was a loving sister-in-law of Schania Zelvin and the late Joseph Rosenshein and Fay Rosenshein, and a dear aunt, grand-aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff at Suncrest Hospice for their compassionate care and support, with special thanks to her nurse, Lauren, for her kindness and dedication.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday 3PM at Warrenville Park District Activity Room, 3S240 Warren Ave., Door 4 Warrenville, IL 60555. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances in her memory to the National Family Association of DeafBlind (NFADB), Ronald McDonald House, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be appreciated.

Arrangements are entrusted to Ner Tamid Funerals, 847-504-7336 or www.NTFunerals.com
