Herbert D. Hafft, 93, of Vernon Hills, passed away peacefully, Tuesday January 21st. Born to parents Louis and Rose Hafft. Herb was a devoted husband to his beloved late wife Sara for almost 71 years. He was also a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather as well as a respected veteran who proudly served in the Army. He cherished spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and will be missed by David (Amy), Barry (Donna), Kenny (Wendy), Rebecca (Steve), Matthew, Jenna (Ryan), Brandon, Zachary (Juli), Carter, Dylan, Braxton, Emma, Mackenzie and step-grandchildren Erin and Matthew, and was preceded in death by his late daughter-in-law Linda Hafft, sister-in-law Rosa Appel, and granddaughter Karly. He will also be remembered fondly by other family members including Eileen and Richard Aronoff, Janice and Michael Schrimmer, Jeffrey and Julie Kreamer, Sam and Dede Harris, Carol and Leon Asher, and Herman and Etty Appel. He was a friend to many and will fondly be remembered for his sense of humor, generosity and religious beliefs, and being a history buff, nostalgist and diehard Cubs fan. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 24th, 11:00am at the Shalom Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 1700 W Rand Rd., Arlington Heights.
