Irwin William Borchew beloved husband of Roslyn Borchew nee Jacobson. Loving father of Gail (Matthew) Schuck and Linda (Jen Snyder) Borchew. Cherished grandfather of Beth (Louis) Klieger, Eli Schuck and Dagan Borchew. Adored great grandfather of Greysen Klieger. Fond uncle, cousin, and friend of many. Irwin worked as a mainframe computer operations manager at Bankers Life & Casualty Company for over 30 years. As an early retiree, he then volunteered for the next three decades at the Park Ridge Center of Concern where he was named the 2014 Military Service Member Volunteer of the Year recipient and with the Maine Township Teen/Youth Program.  In his spare time he had community roles at Golf Maine Park District including Commissioner. He spent countless hours reimagining his elaborate backyard landscaping and garden designs, cheering on his daughter and grandchildren at their many sporting events and, later in life, learning to master his Iphone/Ipad surfing the internet and social media, while taking screen-free breaks zentangling beautiful works of art.  Irwin proudly served in the Army stationed in Hawaii during the Korean conflict. He continued his quest for world peace reading as much as he could about both Israel and Palestine. He was one of the most selfless human beings. Graveside services Friday 1:30 PM at Shalom Memorial Park, 1700 Rand Rd., Arlington Heights, IL. Family and friends that cannot attend may watch the services live or any time after on Irwin’s webpage at www.NTFunerals.com.
