Jerrald “Jerry” Miller, of Highland Park, IL, passed away in January 2024. He was born in Chicago to Joseph and Mary Miller. He grew up in Peoria, IL with his sister Meryl and cousin Jimmy Gellar. After high school, he joined the Navy and served in WWII.
Post-service, he attended Purdue University and graduated in 1949 with a degree in electrical engineering, a career he pursued until his retirement in 1994. He had a lifelong love of travel and was an avid motorcyclist until the age of 82. He was also a voracious reader, and enjoyed attending his numerous PHS reunions.
He had two sons, Michael and Jeffrey. He is survived and missed by his devoted wife of 70 years, Shirley (née Becker), his loving son Jeffrey, his caring daughters-in-law Lisa and Mihaela, his beloved grandchildren Rebecca and Sarah, and his recently deceased sister Meryl, and countless family, many of whom knew him as “Uncle Jer”. He was preceded in death by his loving son Michael.
Services Sunday February 4th, 1PM at Temple Beth-El, 3610 Dundee Rd, Northbrook, IL. Family and friends who will not attend are welcome to watch the service on Jerrald's webpage live beginning at 1PM CST, Sunday, February 4, 2024 or any time after at www.NerTamidFunerals.com. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to Lake County Honor Flight or your preferred charity would be appreciated.
