Joel I. Forman AKA “Joey”, “Joe” or “Joe Poppa”, age 82, beloved husband of 57 years to Rayna Forman nee Garfield who accepted him “as is”. Loving father of Aimee (Adam) Lewis, Abby (Matthew) Gagerman, and Andrew (Dawn) Forman. Cherished grandfather of Tyler, Luke, Amanda, Brady, Eliana, Corinne, Nouvelle, Gianna, Drake, and Noemi. Dear brother of Dennis (Nancy) Forman and brother-in-law of Frances (Jim) Brown. Dear uncle, cousin, bonus Poppa, and friend to many. Joe’s favorite role was being the biggest fan of his 10 grandchildren who have slowly taken over as the carriers of his stories, as well as his legendary t-shirts. Joe loved a warm ear; he loved to tell stories and make everyone laugh. A lifelong avid Sox fan, he loved to talk baseball to anyone who would participate. He was a gambler, prankster, pitcher, an ad guy, softball coach, a wonderful speaker, creative writer, artist, and he was his many dogs’ favorite human. Services were held on Monday at Makom Solel Lakeside. The recorded service can be viewed live or recorded at www.ntfunerals.com or by clicking here. Interment Shalom. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Jewish United Fund or your preferred charity would be appreciated. Arrangement by Ner Tamid Funerals, 847-504-7336 or www.NTFunerals.com.
