Sylvia (Steinberg) Schneider Obituary

Sylvia Debra Schneider (nee Steinberg) on Dec 22, 2024. Beloved mother of Robert (late), John (late), and Warren Kruger; stepmother to Eric, Laura, Mark and Jim Schneider. Beloved grandmother to Ben, Rebecca (late), Sarah, Jeremy, and Nathan Kruger, and Graham, Kyle, Emily, Maddie, and Carley Schneider. Sylvia was born in 1930 and lived most of her life in Chicago. She earned her MA in Art History from the Art Institute of Chicago, and was an interior designer known for her exquisite sense of design and unique ability to seamlessly blend the old with the new. She was married to Richard J. Kruger (late) for 20 years, and then to Paul E. Schneider (late) for another 40 years. Besides art and architecture, she enjoyed nature and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She kept up with all of their interests and always had fun things for them to do, leaving them with fond memories of driving the golf cart, swimming, and learning cactus names. She lived her entire life with a dry humor and impeccable fashion sense. Sylvia charmed everyone she met and loved vanilla ice cream. She will be greatly missed. Interment will be at Zion Gardens Cemetery in Chicago. Contributions in her memory may be made to The Chicago Botanic Garden or The Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.
